Film ini dibuat berdasarkan novel berjudul sama tahun 2001 yang ditulis Abidah El Khalieqy, penulis wanita asal Jombang, Jawa Timur. Novel tersebut diadaptasikan menjadi sebuah naskah film oleh Ginatri S. Noer dan Hanung Bramantyo. Film ini menyajikan latar tradisi sebuah sekolah pesantren di Jawa Timur yang cenderung mempraktikkan tradisi konservatif terhadap wanita dan kehidupan mode. Dialog film ini dibawakan dalam bahasa Indonesia, bahasa Jawa, dan juga terkadang bahasa Arab yang sering digunakan di sekolah pesantren.

Film ini berkisah mengenai perjalanan hidup Anissa (Revalina S. Temat), seorang wanita berkarakter cerdas, berani, dan berpendirian kuat. Anissa hidup dan dibesarkan dalam lingkungan dan tradisi Islam konservatif di keluarga Kyai yang mengelola sebuah pesantren kecil Salafiah putri Al-Huda di Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Dalam lingkungan dan tradisi konservatif tersebut, ilmu sejati dan benar hanyalah al-Qur’an, Hadits dan Suah, dan buku-buku mode dianggap sebagai ajaran menyimpang.

Dalam pesantren Salafiah putri Al-Huda diajarkan bagaimana menjadi seorang perempuan yang harus tunduk pada laki-laki, sehingga Anissa beranggapan bahwa ajaran Islam hanya membela laki-laki dan menempatkan perempuan dalam posisi sangat lemah dan tidak seimbang. Tapi protes Anissa selalu dianggap rengekan anak kecil. Hanya Khudori (Oka Antara), paman Anissa dari pihak Ibunya yang selalu menemani Anissa, menghibur sekaligus menyajikan ‘dunia’ yang lain bagi Anissa. Diam-diam Anissa menaruh hati pada Khudori. Tapi cinta itu tidak terbalas karena Khudori menyadari dirinya masih ada hubungan dekat dengan keluarga Kyai Hanan (Joshua Pandelaki), ayah Anissa, sekalipun bukan sedarah. Hal itu membuat Khudori selalu mencoba menghindari perasaaya pada Anissa. Sampai akhiya Khudori melanjutkan sekolah ke Kairo, Mesir. Secara diam-diam Anissa yang mendaftarkan kuliah ke Yogyakarta, Indonesia, dan diterima. Namun Kyai Hanan tidak mengizinkaya dengan alasan bisa menimbulkan fitnah, ketika seorang perempuan belum menikah berada sendirian jauh dari orang tua. Namun Anissa bersikeras dan protes kepada ayahnya.

Akhiya Anissa malah dinikahkan dengan Samsudin (Reza Rahadian), seorang anak Kyai dari pesantren Salaf besar di Jawa Timur. Sekalipun hati Anissa berontak, tapi peikahan itu dilangsungkan juga. Kenyataaya Samsudin yang berperangai kasar dan ringan tangan menikah lagi dengan Kalsum (Francine Roosenda). Harapan untuk menjadi perempuan muslimah yang mandiri bagi Anissa seketika runtuh. Dalam kiprahnya itu, Anissa dipertemukan lagi dengan Khudori dan keduanya masih sama-sama mencintai. Film kemudian menceritakan perjalanan cinta Anissa dan Khudori dan juga perjuangan Anissa untuk membela hak-hak perempuan muslim di tengan rintangan keluarga pesantreya yang konservatif.

Estranged brothers Rahul (Fawad Afzal Khan) and Arjun Kapoor (Sidharth Malhotra) are compelled to retu to their childhood home in Coonoor when their 90-year-old grandfather Amarjeet (Rishi Kapoor) suffers a heart attack. Their parents, Harsh and Sunita Kapoor (Rajat Kapoor and Ratna Pathak) also reside here. Rahul is a writer, who personifies the image of successful young man who appears to be the most mature person in the family. On the other hand, Arjun struggles to find a job he can stick with and resorts to ruing a website and works part-time as a bartender to make ends meet and writes in the meantime. Rahul is loved more by his parents for being successful. This doesn’t go well with Arjun. While the brothers struggle to get along, the parents, Harsh and Sunita Kapoor too are troubled with their own marriage. Harsh is discouraging of Sunita’s wish to open a catering business and Sunita brings up Harsh’s old affair which proves to be an existing problem in their relationship.

The brothers visit their grandfather Amarjeet, who is now placed in an ICU. To receive treatment, Amarjeet needs to be sent to Bangalore. When the issue of money arises, Harsh suggests to borrow money from his brother, which irks Sunita. When Arjun intervenes, Rahul belittles his presence and they fight. While living under one roof, family secrets unravel and misunderstandings are on the verge of tuing into tragedy. Amarjeet however does not want to go to Bangalore and has just two wishes. His first wish to be buried in an army burial with his old friends. His second wish is to take a family photo titled “Kapoor & Sons, Since 1921”.

Long before her death, the evil sorceress, Queen Ravea, leas that her younger sister Freya is engaged to the Duke of Blackwood and is pregnant. Sometime later, Freya discovers that the Duke has murdered their child and, in a grief-fueled rage, kills him with her long-suppressed ice powers.

The four set forth to find the mirror but are trapped by female dwarves Bromwyn and Doreena. Eric convinces Bromwyn to let them go, and Bromwyn tells them that the Goblins often hunt for valuable belongings and keep them near the Sanctuary, where no entrants ever retu. She and Bromwyn agree to follow Eric to retrieve the mirror. The group is ambushed by the Goblins but are able to get the mirror for transport to the Sanctuary. On the next day, Freya’s army has stolen the mirror, as she freezes Nion and Doreena and orders Sara to kill Eric. She deliberately shoots the arrow at his neck where he wears a necklace, seemingly killing him; Eric wakes up later and vows to face Freya in her icy kingdom.

The icy kingdom and the frozen people are eventually freed, while Eric and Sara, Bromwyn and Gryff, and Nion and Doreena express their love towards each other. The film ends with the bird spirit of the magic mirror flying above the icy kingdom.

As the trail leads him to track down a girl named Amelia (Qualley), he encounters less licensed and less hands-off private eye Jackson Healey (Russell Crowe) and his brass knuckles, both hired by the young hippie. In 1977 Los Angeles, a boy named Bobby (Ty Simpkins) witnesses fading po star Misty Mountains (Murielle Telio) die in a car crash. Later that week, down-on-his-luck private eye Holland March (Ryan Gosling) is approached by Mrs. Gle (Lois Smith), the aunt of Mcisty Mountains who is obsessively claiming to have seen her niece alive. March is skeptical of her claim, but realizes that a missing girl named Amelia Kutner (Margaret Qualley) is somehow involved and accepts the job. However, Amelia does not wish to be found and hires enforcer Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) to intimidate March into staying away from her. Later that night, Healy is attacked at his home by two thugs known as Blue Face (Beau Knapp) and Older Guy (Keith David), who attempt to interrogate him about Amelia’s whereabouts. After stuing the duo, Healy manages to ward them off with a hidden shotgun. He then teams up with a reluctant March to find Amelia before the thugs do. The two are assisted by Holly (Angourie Rice), March’s young daughter, who does not see eye to eye in regards to March’s method of investigating, and is disapproving of her father’s method of swindling extra payments out of his clients and feigning good results to cover his failures.

The film follows the Warrens as they travel to the United Kingdom to assist the Hodgson family, who are experiencing poltergeist activity at their Enfield council house in 1977.

The Conjuring 2 was released in the United States on June 10, 2016. The film received generally positive reviews from critics and has grossed over $90 million worldwide.

The film begins with paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren documenting the Amityville murders, to determine if a demonic presence was truly responsible for Ronald DeFeo, Jr. mass murdering his family on November, 13, 1974. During a seance, Lorraine is drawn into a vision where she relives the murders, but then discovers a demonic nun figure, as well as seeing Ed impaled. Ed struggles but eventually breaks Lorraine’s vision from the seance and she is comforted after being traumatized by what she experienced.

In 1977, in London, England, the Hodgson family begins to discover strange occurrences within their home. Janet, the youngest daughter, is seen sleepwalking and conversing in her dreams as two different people. Eventually, all siblings of the house and their mother Peggy witness paranormal events occurring right before their eyes, forcing them to seek assistance. When the media attempts to interview the Hodgsons, Janet is possessed by the spirit of Bill Wilkins, the previous owner of the house, who wants to claim his territory. As Janet begins to show more signs of demonic possession, the story eventually reaches the Warrens, who are requested to assist the local Church in the investigation. Lorraine, in fear of her vision of Ed’s death becoming reality, was him not to get too involved in the case, and reluctantly agrees to travel to London.

While staying at the Hodgson residence, Ed and Lorraine consult with other paranormal investigators, including Maurice Grosse and Anita Gregory, on the legitimacy of the case. They also attempt to communicate with Wilkins’ spirit, hoping to talk him out of harassing the family. One night, after the Hodgsons witness Janet being possessed, Gregory presents video evidence of Janet purposely breaking stuff inside the kitchen, as if it were a prank. Ed and Lorraine are then convinced to leave the family on their own, but soon they discover that the spirit of Wilkins is only a pawn, being manipulated to haunt Janet, while the true mastermind is the demonic spirit that has been haunting Lorraine in her visions.

Ed and Lorraine retu to the Hodgson residence, only to find Janet being possessed once more and the rest of the Hodgsons locked outside the house. A lightning strike hits a tree near the house, leaving a sharp stem resembling the object that impaled Ed in Lorraine’s vision. Ed ventures inside the house alone, and finds Janet standing near the window, ready to jump into the tree and commit suicide. He manages to grab Janet in time, but finds himself holding onto a curtain that is being to from its rings by his and Janet’s weight. Finally, Lorraine leas of the demon’s name, Valak, and uses it to confront the creature, condemning it back to Hell, freeing Janet from its possession, as well as saving her and Ed in time.

The film ends with a written narration of the Hodgson family’s future, where it is revealed that Peggy passed away in 2003, while sitting in the same position where Wilkins died. Upon retuing home, Ed takes one exhibit from the investigation, the Crooked Man tutable, and brings it back to his collection.

Ed and Lorraine retu to the Hodgson residence, only to find Janet being possessed once more and the rest of the Hodgsons locked outside the house. A lightning strike hits a tree near the house, leaving a sharp stem resembling the object that impaled Ed in Lorraine’s vision. Ed ventures inside the house alone, and finds Janet standing near the window, ready to jump into the tree and commit suicide. He manages to grab Janet in time, but finds himself holding onto a curtain that is being to from its rings by his and Janet’s weight. Finally, Lorraine leas of the demon’s name, Valak, and uses it to confront the creature, condemning it back to Hell, freeing Janet from its possession, as well as saving her and Ed in time.

The film ends with a written narration of the Hodgson family’s future, where it is revealed that Peggy passed away in 2003, while sitting in the same position where Wilkins died. Upon retuing home, Ed takes one exhibit from the investigation, the Crooked Man tutable, and brings it back to his collection.

The Turtles continue to live in the shadows and no one knows they were the ones who took down Shredder. And Veon is the one everyone thinks is the one who took Shredder down. April O’Neill does some snooping and leas a scientist named, Baxter Stockman is working for Shredder. He plans to break him out while he’s being transported. The directorial debut film is an Indo-French co-production produced by Drishyam Films, Macassar Productions, Phantom Films, Sikhya Entertainment, Arte France Cinema and Pathé Productions. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2015 Caes Film Festival wiing two awards. Ghaywan previously assisted Anurag Kashyap on Gangs Of Wasseypur.

Set in the present day Vaasi, the plot of Masaan follows two seemingly separate stories that eventually converge.

The first of these tells the story of Devi. The film opens with her and her fellow student, Piyush, checking into a hotel room. They are interrupted during sex when the police bursts in, accusing them of indulging in “indecent behaviour”. As the inspector records the barely clad Devi on his mobile phone, the boy Piyush, in his undies, locks himself in the bathroom and commits suicide. Devi and her family are subjected to blackmail by the police, particularly by Inspector Mishra, who demands a hefty bribe of three lakhs from Vidyadhar Pathak, Devi’s father to hush up the matter. While he struggles to fulfill the demand, she responds in a dignified maer to the ‘stigma’ forced on her by switching jobs. She eventually gets a govement job in the Railways in Varanasi. Marred by the parochial mindset of people, she leaves Varanasi and joins a course in Allahabad.

The second narrative conces Deepak, a young boy (also from Varanasi) from Dom community (a low-caste of corpse buers) whose family work in cremation ghat by buing funeral pyres. Despite being a Dom, Deepak wants to transcend the restrictions of his low caste. He studies Civil Engineering at a polytechnic college where he meets and falls in love with Shaalu, an upper caste girl. They start meeting each other and during a trip to Allahabad at the banks of Ganga, Shaalu falls for Deepak and accepts his proposal. Back in Varanasi, Deepak tells her about his caste and the work he does of buing corpses, but Shaalu remains firm and tells him that she will be with him even if her parents refuse. She asks him to focus on his placements and bag a job, while she reaffirms her commitment to him . However, unfortunately, during a pilgrimage trip along with her family, she dies in a ghastly bus accident and her dead body along with some other victims ends up at the same cremation ground. Deepak is shattered on seeing her dead body and loses all purpose in his life for a while. But eventually comes to cope with the support of his friends. He also gets an engineer’s job in Railways landing up in Allahabad.
